With their Pet

I hosted this particular swap once before and I loved the results it gave so I did it again. We had 2 columns. You had to choose a person or a character from the first column and draw their pet from the second column of animals.

I have a question for you today that I'd love for you to answer. What do you do on a daily basis that makes your life exciting? I feel like my life is very monotonous and boring and I'd love to change things up a bit to get some "fresh air" in my daily routine.

Linking to Paint Party Friday.

  4. Beautiful artwork. Really like the girl holding the frog. Trying to stay creative, family, two cats and a dog keep life fairly exciting most of the time.

  5. These are wonderful! I especially love the nun! My life is pretty boring too, most of the time, working days especially. But I think that that makes me appreciate all the things I can do in my free time even more. A day trip so somewhere nice, to the mountains, is something I find exciting. I don't do it often enough, but if I would, maybe it wouldn't be exciting anymore.

  7. I try to really see something, anything each day. It may be a flower, a sky, a tree, a friend, a bug...whatever. Since I have started sketching and painting, I try to see things better. To do that, you have to slow down, take a couple of deep breaths and contemplate. Not a bad thing. Happy PPF

  8. Love both...but I adore the nun and the owl! I am Catholic and I remember when nuns wore habits instead of street clothes. Plus, I love owls!!!
Exciting isn't exactly in my life that often now that my hubby and I are retired. But I do love when my granddaughter visits and brings our beautiful 17 month old great granddaughter over to play. She makes our day so beautiful no matter the weather :)

    Happy PPF!!!

  11. sweet illustrations. Besides some kind of art on a daily basis, I love bird watching because every day brings a new and happy sighting to me. I even enjoy watching the antics of the squirrels-as pesky as they can be sometimes. Happy PPF!

  12. Beautiful ATCs!
About your question, when my kids were little and I could not do much art, I used to take them for walks to the park, read my book for a while while they were playing there, and then take them for an icecream in the summer, or to collect "treasures" in a fall walk. and take pictures. As they grew older and I had more time, my exciting thing was painting more! Going for short trips in the weekends to near by places, and as they finish growing up, going to museums. My younger one loves going to museums too more than the older one. Check in your local area, maybe they have activities for the kids that you can enjoy too, like a fair or a free event.

  14. I so love your art and these two are fantastic! The owl and the nun crack me up. I went to parochial school. I think, at some point all of our lives take a "rut" routine and some changes are needed. For me get out of the house, meet for coffee with friends, create with a new product.

  15. I love the nun with her froggy friend! Any time I see the animals and birds outside it brings a smile. I also love taking day-long workshops and learning something new and talking with other artists. My 9 year grandson is a kick! I always make up tall tales to fire his imagination. This week I sent him a postcard saying I was on a trip around the world and was currently at the North Pole staying in an igloo. The front of the post card had an Arctic Fox on it, so I said that the fox was outside when I was going to leave the igloo and that he must have smelled the salmon I had inside and be hungry! Well,I only live 20 minutes from him, so although a little puzzled he caught on pretty quickly that I was "pulling his leg"! When I met them at a restaurant for dinner tonight I told him I came all the way back from the North Pole in my time machine just to have dinner with him! We both enjoy these imaginative trips!

  16. Oh these illustrations are adorable with the little animals! Some may see my life as boring but I never do! First I wake up so grateful... in my head I am thankful for the smallest things all day long. It helps me see the world different! I also asked my self the question what do I love to do most!! Now I do those things!! Art, scrabble, learning for me is what I love! When my daughter was small I always found fun things to do that were free....that gave me great joy was watching her excitement. We played cards together from the age of 3! I would play simple games. I made things colourful and exciting for her and that made me happy! I hope you find your bliss!!

  17. Luv the nun with the owl

My life is quiet in my retirement and the excitement comes from writing poetry and hanging out with online friends.

    Have a nice weekend Natasha

  18. That sounds like a fun challenge to play with. As to your question, I just love to work in my studio and vary the types of media, techniques, and types of projects I play with all the time. Blessings!

  19. How charming! Each day, I ask myself, "what amazing thing am I going to do today?" It inspires me to throw off the mundane, and go in search of am amazing place to paint.....and I try to be back in time to resume my wife and mother duties. And. I don't think my family knows that I'm a bit like Clark Kent stepping into my own personal phone both! :)

  22. The art is fantastic, those faces, I love them. When my kids would come home from school, we would go to the bookmobile that happened to park in our neighborhood at that time. We also played with the tape recorder and made up stories and songs and each played a part. . . rather than set them in front of a tv. Blessings, Janet
