Pick-a-theme or PAT is an ATC swap where you choose a group according to the medium you'd like your card to be then choose a theme for the other 4 players to make your card on. You make a card for each player on their chosen theme and in return you get 4 cards on the theme you chose from 4 different players. The themes were: four leaf clover, self-portrait, hummingbird and sheep.
It's very hot here with an occasional summer shower. We're having ice-cream, playing in the kiddy pool and running around naked. :) The kid, not the adults. That would be traumatizing for the passersby. (I had to look that word up)
Now that the boy is getting bigger, we make it a point to take little trips over the weekend. Our country is small so you can't go longer than 2 hours to pass the border in any direction.
On a Saturday there was a Blueberry festival in a town near us that is called Borovnica which means Blueberry. The weather was bad so there weren't many stands but we did buy a kilo of blueberries and got a free blueberry and rice milk shake.
There were horses that we only admired from afar as one of them seemed agitated. He went "fishing" for ducks and won himself a toy car. And there was a huge firefighter truck that the kid, being cute and all and very into trucks, got to sit in.
That's another thing. People see him how excited he gets when he sees vehicles that they offer him to sit behind the wheel. This happened a couple of weeks back when we took a ride on an electric bus and before that when we were watching workers on the road in front of our house but I refused to put him on then.
And apparently it doesn't have to be a vehicle at all. On Tuesday we were buying a car and the salesman behind the desk opened his arms inviting him to sit in his lap and he went running just so he could sit behind the desk and type on the keyboard.
Oh, here he is on a tractor when we visited some friends. The kid obviously doesn't have trust issues.
Round Robin is a set of 3 cards which one artist starts, send to another to add something to the set and then sends to the third artist to finish everything. Each artist keeps a card that's why there are 3 in a set.
I started this one with Tweety, LucyMc added Silvester and MissM finished everything with the background and the warm. I love how it turned out.
The other day I was looking for something on my blog and started reading the stuff I wrote years ago and thought to myself how boring my blog has become. I used to write so much more than I do today and I somehow thought of topics for every day. Now I only blog once a week and I still can't come up with anything more interesting than random stuff that has happened through the week.
Granted I have a lot less time these days to surf the interwebs and even less to properly write a blog post. I have an hour or so during the day when the kid sleeps and then after 8 p.m. when he goes to sleep. Remember the times not so long ago when I was bragging that my kid falls asleep at 5 p.m.? Yeah, he outgrew that pretty quickly. :)
I check the social media during that hour which goes by too quickly. And I usually draw ATCs in the evening with computer being my only light source. Crazy, I know! :) So I was thinking I need to make a plan to come up with more interesting content for my blog. Any suggestions?
Oh, and another thing. Where did all the challenge blogs go? There used to be so many but now they all moved on except for PPF. Do you know of any? I would love to check them out. I used to love Blogtober fest but there isn't one anymore.
I want to share so many photos of my baby but I know it gets annoying with time. Here he is first time being on the bike and first time helping dad mow the lawn. :)
I turned this ATC the wrong way and the ruff texture of the back side ate my pen. Seriously, has that ever happened to you? It was a Micron pen and it was like the paper erased the pen tip. Luckily I had new ones on the way but it really sucks when a good pen gets ruined.
we went to lake Bled last weekend an hour north of us. It was sunny and hot but also windy so it was bearable. That's a castle on the hill behind us.
we're looking to buy a new car. Well actually two cars since mom is looking for a new one as well.
the kid had his collarbone thingy removed on Wednesday. He was very happy he could take a bath again. :)
I try to group my ATCs to show on this blog but sometimes it's just not possible. I used to make a lot of mermaids but not so much anymore. It goes in circles what people like. These days it seems I draw a lot of birds and animals in general that I'm not particularly good at drawing.
Here are my two boys at a lake nearby. :) It's hard when you have to hold the kid all the time because we need to be careful so he doesn't fall. He doesn't like it either but we have to stick it out for a week or two more for the collarbone to heal. He's mindful of his left arm but still he makes a move from time to time that is painful for him.
