Crazy Hair Ladies on-line Workshop

Finally I'm excited to announce my 2nd
 on-line workshop
Crazy Hair Ladies

This is a 3 week course that will start on November 18th, 2013 and stay open until
end of February, 2014. Videos and PDF's are downloadable and for you to keep forever.

You will get to finish one painting a week. 3 paintings all together.

This time around we're painting with acrylic paints on a larger canvas but the technique can be used on whatever surface and with a medium of your choice.

Also, I use acrylic paint and india ink pens to paint my girls but by all means you don't have to go out and buy india ink pens for this class. I show you how I achieve the same shading with acrylic paint only.

You will need a pencil to draw the face first though. I will show you how to draw a female’s face
“front view”,
“3/4 turned” and
“profile”

Then we’ll paint a crazy background with acrylic paints and stencils. You don’t need to buy stencils. You can make them yourself or use other objects that will print or mask.

Here is a weekly schedule:
Week 1: drawing and painting a female's face front facing on canvas, shading her face with acrylic paints and making a crazy background for her hair
Week 2: drawing and painting a female's face 3/4 turned on canvas, shading her face with india ink pens and making a crazy background for her hair
Week 3: drawing and painting a female's face in profile on canvas, shading her face with india ink pens and making a crazy background for her hair

* Class material will be accessible on line 24/7 from the comfort of your own home
* You can participate as much or as little as you want and at your own pace
* Videos and PDF's are downloadable and for you to keep for personal use only
* No refunds after the class starts
* You are expected to have basic computer and Internet skills

$50 Gift Card & The Battle for Arcanon Major (The Lost Dacomé Files #1) by Alexandra May

Dark FutureThe Battle for Arcanon Major

“As daughter of our ruler I grew up in the crossfire of an ongoing war... All I’d ever wanted to be was a great warrior and ultimately lead my people into victorious battles."

With only a small army at her command Halíka Dacomé, a skilled warrior and daughter of the Elemental King, is ready to lead one final battle to save her planet. A battle against the savage, bloodthirsty Primords who want to extinguish the diminished race of Elementals once and for all.

But before battle commences her father is given an ultimatum from the enemy leader, Arfron Uhnok. If the king agrees, Halíka Dacomé must marry Arfron Uhnok to prevent further bloodshed. If the king disagrees they, as a race, will all perish.

Horrified by her fathers decision Halíka Dacomé leads her army onward regardless of the consequences. Because her heart belongs to another. A love that blossomed many years ago. A love that her father has forbidden.

Halíka faces her toughest battle yet and learns that not all battles are those fought with a sword...
The Battle for Arcanon Major is an epic love story set against the backdrop of war and is the first Prequel to Elemental: The First.

Excerpt

“When you’re out there on the battlefield with your captains and your soldiers, when you fight, you are the strongest, toughest, fiercest woman I know. Sometimes you scare me at how hardened you are.”

“But that’s just—”

“No, I know what you’re going to say. I know it’s who you really are and I love that person. She’s someone I admire so much.”

“What are you trying to say?”

“I’m saying that I feel honoured that I get to see the real you. When you’re with me, you turn into this soft, beautiful, lighthearted woman whom I adore. That woman who stirs something inside me to a point that I can’t bear to be without her. I never see that woman with anyone else. Not Cary, not her brother, no one. Halíka, I think I know how you feel about me but—”

He looked down at our hands, somewhat crestfallen.

“But what?”

“You never say it, Hal. I’ve never, ever heard you say the word. Not even with those closest to you.”

“What word?”

“Love,” he sighed and rested his hand on my cheek, cupping my face. “The word is love. Is Halíka Dacomé capable of such a thing?”

Girls with different hair color and Freaky Wednesday on a Friday

These are ATCs for ladies with a different hair color. I love the redhead. :)

Is there a movie I should see?

My hubby took me to the movies this week to see Malavita staring Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer and Tommy Lee Jones. It was freaking awesome

How to put a fancy Signature to your blog post

This post is a part of a series of some tips and trick I picked up along the way. They are not something I figured out. You can search for any of them on the internet but what happens often is that tutorials disappear. And as it happened not long ago the blogger HTML changed as well so the previous tutorials don’t make sense.

So, how to put a fancy signature to your blog post? Follow the points bellow.
  • Go to your Blogger Settings > Posts and Comments
  • Click Add next to Post Template and insert the code
click on image to make it bigger
Which code to insert? Your imagination is the limit here. I will show you three possibilities.

1. Use a website like http://www.mylivesignature.com/ to create your custom signature. The service is free for simple signatures, if you want an animated one or use a scanned image then you have to pay. Follow their steps to get the code.
2. Use an Image map but make sure you have the correct height and width for your blog body. Refer to Image map part from the Header tutorial to get the code. And make sure you save the image in .png format without the background so it will blend nicely with your blog template.
3. Use an image you either made with software, scanned image of something hand-drawn or handwritten or whatever you wish.
  • The easiest way to get the right code is to open a new blog post and upload the desired image. You can even insert a link, if you want. Click the HTML tab, copy the code and paste it to Post Template.

  • Make sure you Save Settings.

Round Robin style ATCs

via mariloupatch

via kentuckydakota
  • Round Robin is a game / challenge in this case involving 3 people in which the first person starts the set of 3 ATC cards with drawing or painting something (a background or an object / subject). Then the cards are sent to the second person which contributes to the project with their own art and then the third person finishes them. Why 3 ATCs? So all three artists get a card to keep.
  • In this case the set was started by Marilou with an apple. I added the wicked step-mother and Teresa finished the cards with the mirror and background. How freaking fun is that?! :)
  • the blond guy I drew last week is an actor Ron Perlman who plays Clay Morrow in Sons of Anarchy. Don't worry. I've never heard of this show before either until I was asked to draw one of the characters from it.
  • I'm done filming part 3 of the new workshop. :) Yay for me! I should probably start advertising soon.
  • Have I told you that new additions to our family are 8 hens? No? Well, yes they are. My mother decided she wants to have hens for the eggs so we had to build a hen-house. The fun part is that mom's dog Kato loves hens but not in a friendly way. We now need to put up a fence so he can't get to them while they're roaming around the yard.

Freaky Wednesday on a Friday, manly ATCs and vacation photo

A couple of ATCs of men so you can see I can draw them, too, not just girlies. :) Can you guess who they are?

So, we're back from vacation and sadly I have no juicy story about my husband's fear of flying. He handled himself quite well this time around without the help of narcotics.

But I will share with you a prime proof of how naturally photogenic we both are while taking vacation photos. Have a laugh, I don't mind. :)

Hey, did you read any good books lately?
Hopeless is one of the best book I've read in a while. So beautifully written and such a heartfelt story.

Wow! Holder started as a typical sexy bad boy but quickly became so much more and Sky was just an amazing character. How she dealt with everything was so real. Not for once did I question anything she did or felt like slapping her for being stupid. Which is an accomplishment in itself. :)

Ok, that "I live you" was a little awkward and I wasn't buying all that lack of technology knowledge thing. I mean, it's not like she was living in isolation for her to not know those things. She was spending time with her best friend next door who I'm sure would have shown her all the gadgets and how they worked.

But all in all a powerful story which had me worried if I'm going to like the ending but I loved how the author addressed the whole issue.
