An Eye

Inspired by CreativeEye
Summer of Color wanted red and yellow in this week's challenge so I made this. It's also the first page in my new art journal. I got a handmade one a while ago and I only now painted the first page.

Random stuff:
  • we've been having health problems with our pets. My pooch Karma has a wound on her foot that she keeps licking and infecting. She's taking medicine and I keep putting socks on her feet but the second the sock gets off, she's back to licking.
  • my mom's pooch Kato had an epileptic attack yesterday. He had them before as a symptom to a tick disease that he's been treated for. He's been acting weird for a while and my mom took him to the vet to check the blood and we found out today that he's positive for tick disease again and hence the epileptic attack. Luckily it's something that can be treated with antibiotics but it takes a while and it has bad effect on the liver.
  • I've been eating a lot of junk food lately. I even broke my gluten-free diet because I craved pizza so badly.
  • I'm a little fed up with the internet so I'm back to watching TV after I think several years.
  • and we have my 18 year old niece visiting for a couple of days. She just graduated high school and going to college in fall.
A little reminder that registration for Cotton Candy Girls Workshop is opened. :) It starts August 5th, 2013 and is exactly the same as the previous two and it's still just 25$.

I have a giveaway going on on my FB page so go check it out to see how you can win a FREE spot on the CCG course.  If you're not on FB don't worry, I'll probably have a giveaway here on my blog next week. Make sure to check back. :)

  8. That eye sends shivers up and down my spine, but it certainly demands attention, and it's such an unusual way to use the SOC red/yellow colours. I like it in a sort of like it/don't like it way. It's very clever.

My dog has something with her foot the last few days as well, she's limping and licking it but won't let me look at it so I can't find out what happened to it n so don't know wat to do? Hoping it will just get better. Good luck, I hope u have a nice visit with ur niece!

  11. oh my- that eye only reminds me of my finger cut this week. Sorry about the pet problems-it really is difficult to keep an animal from going at their sore spots. I would have SO considered taking your class but I'll be away several weeks during that time.Wishing you a much better week and enjoy the weekend!

  26. Very unique soc...I like it!! Sorry about the pets...the only way to stop the licking is sadly a cone. Poor thing. We babysit a poodle that had a small sore from when she was clipped too close by the groomer...we were so worried...it seemed festered..but I was surprised when it healed up pretty nicely. As soon as it scabbed up she would lick all night...I assumed it was itchy just like ours get... I ended up bathing her and getting the scab off and she left it alone to heal....it was scarred though...hope those animals feel better soon...

Sorry to read about Karma and Kato. Trust me, I know how upsetting it is when you have a sick pet.

  31. Very creative, Natasha . Red and yellow was a difficult combination to do something with and you've carried it off well. Unhappily though, it reminded me of the cataract surgery I am facing the end of the month!!! So sorry about the pets. They truly are members of the family and when they get hurt, we hurt too. Has the vet suggested an Elizabethan collar protector to keep the licking down?
