Promote your Etsy Shop

I couldn't think of another title for this blog post, so that's all you're going to get.

So, The Girl got some hair and background. No dress, yet. I'm not sure I like painting hair this way. I guess I'll have to give it some time to see if we get along or not.

Some random thoughts jumping around in my head:
  • I have a gynecologist appointment today. Yeah, I know you want to know such things about me so I'm happy to share. :)
  • I made a mistake of reading comments under some news this week and I actually felt sick to my stomach how ugly people can be. No wonder the world is where it is when people can't show an ounce of empathy. When did a tragedy became acceptable in people's mind's? When did "I'm sorry" got replaced with "serves you right"?
  • Is it just me or does anyone else find it wrong when you see adult females on the internet swoon over "famous" underage boys? I mean, I witnessed this weird frenzy on FB a while back with a model that was on the cover of some book. (hence the "famous") Ok, so the boy was probably looking for some exposure but the ADULT women were like freaking sharks with their comments. Seriously. I highly suspect if they met him in real life they would've behaved differently but OMG! I was embarrassed for them. And they knew he was underage because they asked him how old he was even though he didn't look it. If this was a teenage girl and adult males, all hell would break loose.
  • I'm way too addicted to YouTube. Do people really have that much fun in real life or is my life that boring?
  • The snow has almost melted in our yard with all the fabulous weather we've been having lately. And with it came the winter long accumulation of dog poop that was hiding underneath. Needles to say I spent an afternoon picking up dog poop that looked like it already started to develop its own ecosystem.

Linking to Paint Party Friday. Have a fabulous weekend!

  2. Like my Papa used to tell me - you don't have to like it or agree with it, but that's the way it is. Update your data, Donna. He was 97 at the time. Always blew my mind. xo

  3. nothing wrong with the hair i.m.o., but I didn't see the video yet so I don't know the steps you took ....
I stopped reading comments on news-articles a long time ago. Internet is anonymous and some nitwits think that gives them the right to vent their anger and frustration all over the place with hateful comments. Nah, not for me .... Thanks for posting about the Etsy-promotion! The list is growing every day :-)

  4. I am so glad you ended with the poop...the rest was so sad and depressing... because darn it...it's so true..I do not understand these mean people. Seriously, where is the empathy? I think the people behind the screens are just way more cocky. Most people I associate with along with ppf bloggers are kind loving souls.
You didn't even mention cell phone manners... which seem to be nil and void too...

Love your girl...she is beautiful with regular hair!

Had to smile when you mentioned the winters worth of dog poo hiding under the snow!! So it's not only flowers that come up in the spring!! lol

  15. Nice portrait - I think the hair is OK. Hair is super tough for me :( The many years we lived in a climate with snow on the ground for long periods of time - I can totally relate to the amazing amount of poop hiding underneath. We finally went to "low output" dog food - it helped some. As for news comments. More people need to live by Thumper's words in Bambi - if you can't say anything nice.. don't say anything at all. Marji..x

  16. Loving your girl - she's lovely! I tend to avoid the news in it's entirety if I can. Too much doom, gloom and hyperbole.

  17. I love your girl and the hair. What you have said is so true. I don't read much news or commenting anymore. Just enough to know what's going on. Oh and I have so been there with the dog poop thing too :) Happy PPF!

  18. I love your girl Natasha- her two different coloured eyes are amazing! I also love your random comments on things in your life - you make me laugh. You are so right about the way people in this world can be now. I thought that with the way people were celebrating the death of Margaret Thatcher - whether you cared for her politics or not, I thought the whole celebration thing was really sick and disrespectful - especially when most of those celebrating weren't even born when she was in power!!
Ha, I don't envy you all that dog poop to pick up - we call it poo patrol and try to do it daily so that it doesn't build up but I know how impossible that was when it was snowing!

  19. Hey My Friend ;o) You are so right about how some people comment! It truly makes me sick!
I love you different colored eyes on your girl ;o)
For me, I hate older women with younger guys and I hate older men with younger girls! It makes my stomach turn! It doesn't make sense to me!
Have fun picking up the poop!
    Take Care ;o)

  20. can totally relate to the dog poop. We just got a fresh blanket of snow, so that chore is delayed a little bit. I try not to read the comments in the news. It seems like only mean people comment most of the time.

  22. Beautiful, beautiful face, Natasha May. Interesting observations you've made this week, my dear. I haven't read any negative comments about the tragedies our country is suffering at the moment. But then I rarely look at You Tube.

  23. It is that lovely two colored eyes girl. Her hair is looking fine. This blog land is a great escape for me from the outside world of tragedy, fear and gloom.
    Have a great weekend Natasha

  29. Love your random thoughts and totally agree.
It's a mad mad world out there and to keep our sanity in our home we keep a distance from the news....just too sad and scary to take it all in.
It's lots of fun on Youtube, its a great place for free art classes, old movies ,music, lots of good stuff there!!!
And the poop patrol.....thankfully I did the yard a few weeks back , so nice to walk it without hesitation...lol.
Nice art work on your girl and thanks for the link to Denthe for info on Etsy, need all the help I can get : )

  30. Somehow reading about dog stuff made me feel the same as when I read the news ("ewww", "OMG!" "Agh!!") lol
The hair on your painting looks nice! What don't you like? Are you going to collage the outfit?

  31. She's lovely.... love her different coloured eyes.

  32. Ugh...I don't envy you your dog poop situation!

I know! Older women swooning over young teenage boys?? What is that? It feels leecherous and uncomfortable to me.

I think anonymous comments should be banned. Unless people are prepared to own what they write I think some people spew craziness and hate with no filters.

  33. I love her green and blue eyes!
Your random thoughts about people being rude, narrow and acting like hungry vultures are exactly what the world needs to pay attention to...stop to think and listen.
I try to keep away from news, though I know it is not always practical! :-)
    Great post!
