Wild 'N Reckless Sherbet

Summer of Color 's ice cream flavor for this week is Wild 'N Reckless Sherbet. Wow! Did you see those colors?? Look!
Hey guys! Do you have any gluten-free, dairy-free and meat-free recipes to share? For meals not like cookies and stuff. There's plenty of that.:)

Honestly, as soon as I say meat-free, all that I can find are salads and roasted vegetables. And everybody substitutes meat with cheese and when I say dairy-free, I'm left with pretty much nothing.

Oh, I don't eat soya either so tofu doesn't work for me and seitan is made of wheat witch means gluten.

Are there any normal recipes out there? Normal meaning I don't have to fly to India or Brazil to find an ingredient to cook with. :) I'm getting bored with my vegetable rice and gluten free pasta.

  3. Firstly...your art is amazingly beautiful as ever!!!
Now...why don't you list the ingredients you CAN eat, so we can suggest/find recipes for you. For instance, what can you use as a thickener for sauces etc does arrowroot powder contain gluten? Do you class your dietary requirements as Gluten free Vegan? Help us help you babe, I'm sure us Foodies can make a tasty meal from anything :D XXX

  4. Hi Natasha, so lovely to see you and your beautiful art! So gorgeous! I've come off my gluten free diet. I got ill with not enough Iron. This is a problem for me and didn't think I would cause any further upset to my body. Thew, I was wrong. I can certainly sympathise with you over finding foods gluten free, its so hard and limited. Never knew so much food and sauces had this in it. Your so beautiful Natasha! Hope you find some good recipes! :D Julie

  9. One tin of cannelli beans (or any bean you like really), one tin of lentils, one bulb of fennel, one red pepper, one clove of garlic, one tin of tomatoes.

Gently fry the fennel, pepper and garlic. Add the rest of the ingredients. Add some spice if you wish.

Delicious, easy, nutritious and no wheat or dairy in sight!

Gorgeous gorgeous painting today Natasha. Really love this one.

  23. My daughter is a celiac and has trouble with protein so we live in a pretty food restricted house...but most of our recipes have eggs in them and we have a lot of fish, vegie burgers and use lots of beans, rice and gluten free pasta and noodles... thank goodness for stirfry... there is a website that we use a bit to find recipes and we just convert the milk to almond milk or rice milk, but otherwise has lots of things that you could maybe convert...http://www.taste.com.au/search-recipes/?q=gluten+free&publication=
    good luck
ps love love love your drawing this week...xx

  29. I love all the intricate details you added to this beauty :)

It is definitely easier to find dessert-type recipes, but here is a blogroll link from a vegan site... the site itself is baking (some good looking stuff), but her blogroll includes lots of different types of vegan sites:
    http://www.adashofcompassion.com/blogroll/
    (I hope that helps)

Another thing - have you ever tried mashing cooked lentils and using them in place of ground meat in recipes? Here's an example:

    http://www.food.com/recipe/really-good-vegetarian-meatloaf-really-33921

You could leave out the cheese and egg and substitute GF oats for the quick cooking oats... Since it has the oats it should still hold together even if you leave out the egg and cheese. (My mother-in-law has celiac disease and we buy certified gluten-free oats here... I hope you have those near you.)

Good luck - let me know how it goes :)

  32. Absolutely love your page - the colors just fly off the screen.

My favorite gluten free, vegan dish is quinoa salad. You cook it up like rice, 2:1 water to quinoa, it's really light and tasty. I let it cool off and then just add anything I have that sounds good - a can of black beans, or whatever you have, avocado, olives, cilantro, artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes, fresh tomatoes, bell peppers, chilies for some kick if you want, garlic, olive oil...the possibilities are endless. I make a big batch and we eat it for days... And quinoa is the only grain that is a whole protein and has all amino acids.

  35. Ilustracija čarobna!
A sladoled toliko neobičan da svojim drečavim bojama istovremeno i privlači i odbija.
    Ali svakako plijeni oko! :)

  36. I am dairy and gluten free, it can be a giant pain in the neck, especially when you eat out. I sympathise.

And your angel is incredible. I love the smudginess that lends a bit of otherworldliness to her her. Stunning.
