Dear Mrs. Tiggy,
We're in New Zealand at the moment and were invited to a rugby game which was a little scary. The players do a traditional haka dance before the game starts and they make these scary faces. Each time I saw those eyes and tongues my claws came out. Boy, was I glad when that was over.
And then at dinner when I was trying to explain to everyone that I was allergic to kiwis, everyone was looking at me like I was weird or something. I later found out there was a bird called a kiwi and they also call themselves Kiwis. Well, nobody told me!
xoxo Mr. Black

ReplyDeleteKia ora, Natasha :)
ReplyDeleteNice job with the Maori face. Did you know that here in Aotearoa, New Zealand, we call the fruit 'kiwifruit' to avoid confusion wih ourselves and our native bird. Lol.
Ka kite!
I Love your face again! Valerie
ReplyDeleteGreat face Natasha, very dramatic! I have not been lucky enough to visit New Zealand yet but it's definately on my list of places to go. I'll have to remember all the definitions of Kiwi. LOl
ReplyDeleteNatasha, the haka has become part of our family celebrations and Paki recently had a whole kindergarten class mesmerized with his music. New Zealand offers so many treasures. I have a family of Kiwis by choice! Loved your card.
ReplyDeleteAwesome conveyance and image! I love how the (suggestion of) hair receding (for lack of better phrasing) into the background frames the drama of the face. AWEsome!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous sketch and loved your story...well done!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
abby
