The toughest thing for me is to find the right goddess to portray. It takes up most of my time. After that, I sketch it fairly quickly. I'm concentrating more on the figure than on the face as you can see. I think it would be a good lesson for me to make my girls more dynamic.
For the first week we have a choice of a Celtic or Nordic goddess. I chose Freya, the Nordic goddess of love, beauty, fertility, gold, witchcraft, war and death. Freya assists other deities by allowing them to use her feathered cloak and she's often portrayed to be riding a chariot pulled by two cats.
I’m also linking this one to The Butterfly Effect. The theme is dreams/nightmares and the two reoccurring nightmares of mine when I was growing up was going to school naked and being chased by someone or something and then flying away just before they could get me. I think having Freya's wings would make it easier for me to escape. :)

Oh the green of her dress and the red of her hair look amazing against each other.
ReplyDeleteAnd those sweet kitties! I wish they would pull me around ;-)
She is one sexy Goddess! Fantastic Natasha! I love the cats too! You flew in your dream, good sign ;o)
ReplyDeleteI'd say this is a dynamic pose for sure....I loved how you tied the 2 themes together :)

ReplyDeleteWOW!!! Love her and her pose!!! Norse mythology is very fascinating.
ReplyDeleteAbout nightmares: I can undertand your when you talk about going to school naked.... I usually go to school naked but wearing a baby pamper...... terrible!!! :)
The green of her dress and her curly red hair goes so well together and it is so wonderul to see Freya, then spring is near for sure :-) btw this pose is a stunner!!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean i can't deide on a goddess yet either.... Great job though!
ReplyDeleteHi Natasha. A very lovely goddess she is, indeed. I love her beautiful red hair and subtle smile.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, if you come by my blog, I think you'd have something to be smiling about too. :))
Very sensual Goddess! I think this challenge would baffle me - can't wait to see what you come up with in your vivid imagination! xoDonna
ReplyDeleteShe's lovely - and I adore her fiery red hair!
ReplyDeleteI've never had the naked dream. I think I'd very much enjoy riding in a chariot pulled by 2 cats. I might like that even more than having wings.
ReplyDeleteI love the expression on her face - calm and at peace, yet confident and solid in her personality! I'm having lots of fun looking at the amazing creativity from all participating in the 13 Goddesses in 13 Weeks!
