Ok, how many of you have read Alice in Wonderland? Like the whole book not just extracts. :) I must admit I haven't. At least I don't remember reading the book when I was younger.
I have the book now and I've tried to read it but I think I'm too old for it to hold any interest for me. I think that ship has sailed. :) But I do enjoy the movies of course.
That said . . . I'm missing books. Like literally. I wanted to read The girl with the dragon tattoo the other day and I can't find it. And I can't find the sequels either. And two books from the Vampire Academy series. I've found where one of the books is located for now. I lent it to a family friend but the rest just vanished.
And speaking of Wonderland. :) I'm loving the Life Book class. This is a sketch I made following Bonnie's lesson. Bonnie Rose Bryan is one of the guest teachers on the Life Book and she's awesome. :)Linking to Paint Party Friday.

The girl with the dragon tattoo ... couldn't put it down like half the rest of the world. Your Life Book class looks interesting - obviously learning good body proportions. Love 'Alice'. Hope you find your other mysteriously vanishing books .. xoDonna
ReplyDeletelove your alice illustrations. i didn't read it either i don't think. i haven't read the girl with the dragon tattoo but did see all the movies with subtitles and don't understand why they've remade them in English when the originals were so good.
ReplyDeletejust read war horse which was fab and saw the movie last night which was so disappointing-they made it really cheesy and not at all like the book reads.
Lovely "Alice" images Natasha, and your sketch is wonderful too :D XXX
ReplyDeleteBeautiful illustrations! Valerie
ReplyDeleteI actually love Alice in Wonderland and it is a great book... it is a pretty good read even as an adult... love your drawings and sooo impressed you are so far along on lifebook... I am already behind!!!

I never liked to read books... There's something about it, I guess I just get bored, or perhaps I'm too slow...
ReplyDeleteEither way, your Alice paintings are adorable, love the middle one with the braids the most~

Your illustrations are so lovely, Natasha May. I love books. I don't think I'll ever get a Kindle because I love the feel of a book. When I've had books vanish, I later remember lending them to someone. I think the person puts it on a shelf with other books and forgets it is borrowed.

omg - we must have a cosmic connection. I have been thinking about reading Alice in Wonderland because I don't get the fascination that people have with it. I don't remember reading it as a kid either. I just finished the girl with the dragon tattoo. It is incredible but disturbing, I will send it to you if you'd like.
ReplyDeleteAs always love keeping an eye on your work!
cheers, dana
I love this book and love your paintings :) AND love the Stieg Larsonn books too!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful illustrations. Happy PPF, Annette x
ReplyDeleteLovely Alice drawings! <3
ReplyDeleteI read Alice In Wonderland to my kids, when they were small, we all loved it, it was quite new translation (to Finnish). There is some awesome insights in it... I just saw The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (swedish version), so good and now I have to read the book, and the whole Millenia trilogy, I think... of course most of the world allready read it. :))
I need to look at my Bonnie Rose videos--great figure sketch!!
ReplyDeleteAlice the great, and your sketches are perfect. Saludos

Nope, haven't read Alice, then I sorta went off the author because someone said he was a bit of connoisseur of underage females, but the story is cool I guess, but what is cooler are your awesome illustrations here, really love the approach - nice one Natasha May :)

Jaz pa sem gledala Alice in to v dveh filmskih različicah. Ko gledam tvoje risbice, me kar popeljejo v posamezne odlomke.
