What's her name?

This is the third one done on a book page. :) I find it quite hard to get myself to drawing, but when I do, it's finished fairly quickly. What's her name?

Now, because my writing muse has left on a holiday, I'm telling you some random stuff.

* I hate post offices in December. It takes three times as long for mail to arrive and they always end up losing something of mine.

* I told you before I'm making handmade gifts this season. I'm working on some necklaces and I love them! I just hate it that it takes so freaking long for them to dry so I can finish them.

* I learned to make a sliding knot. I'm freaking ecstatic! :)

* One of the ideas for a handmade gift was a little pouch for a mobile. I cut and assembled and I made my mom sew. I'm again convinced I am not supposed to be around the sewing machine. Just watching what all went wrong got me freaking out. That said, nobody is getting a handmade pouch from me. :) But I did keep the one we made. Shoot! I should take a photo and show it to you.

* One of my dogs decided to open doors for herself without my permission. She's been doing it for some time now but from the outside when she wanted to come in. Now she decided she'll let herself out if I'm not willing to get up and open it for her at that precise moment. I now have to lock the doors to prevent unwanted escapes. Well, I don't mind her going out I mind her leaving the doors open. And it's freaking freezing here these days.

* I need to buy another UniPosca pen. I love it! I think I emptied it.

* My next project are bracelets. I just need to buy supplies to start.

* If you want some fun today, skip over to Amy's FREE live video class over HERE. We'll be there at 12 pm CST, 1 pm EST, 6 pm UK and 19:00 for most of Europe. Today meaning Friday, 23. December. :)

Now go check these people out.--> Paint Party Friday

Happy Holidays!!

  1. This portrait is Sooper cute! I like the mobile pouch - that's a cool idea. You have a handy and sweet mom- mine would have laughed at me if I asked her to sew (I suspect she cannot operate the machine)
Shit! I still need to post paper dolls! I should have added them tonight...but since it's like.... Way past my bedtime, it will have to happen tomorrow :))
What else can I tell you that you don't care about? Hey! My cat came back home (shew!)
Okay, really... Off to bed now :)

  5. LOL on the sewing machine, I feel exactly the same. We are just not made for eachother. Still, your pouch looks great ;-) Uni Posca, my daughter loves them too, she's getting a big box of them for Christmas. Looking forward to the look on her face when she unwrappes! Love the story about your dog, but you really need to learn him (her) to shut the door behind them, and take the other dog(s) outside too! If you manage that, think of the time it will save you if they just manage by themselves LOL Amy's video, maybe I'll pop in for a while, not sure yet.
Last but not least, have a wonderful Christmas!

  6. I agree with Donna - she's definitely a Persephone!! I love what you are doing with these - I find painting them very therapeutic, you can do them quickly and you don't have 'blank paper syndrome' when you start!!

    Merry Christmas!!

  11. I think she may be my very favourite yet, Natasha!! She's absolutely stunning. I believe she needs a name that pertains to 'truth', so my vote is on Veronique.

  13. love the portrait-such a cutie. funny enough, i'm totally rubbish at sewing too and just ordered a mobile pouch and a tab pouch from two different etsy sellers and they're gorgeous!

i love that your dog lets himself out-wish mine were tall enough to do that! i have trained one of them to close the door when he comes back it by just pushing it shut but i still have to be there doing the hand signal!

happy holidays and i wish i could be there with alk your lovely festive snow!

  17. Natasha May, I think your portrait on the book text is fabulous. I just love it. Beautiful. Now about the dog... HOW does it undo the latch to go out? and how does it pull the door inward to get outside? What a rare and intelligent beast! Faye

  18. She looks to me like she might have been a royal Koi in the Japanese Emperors pond. I think her name Is Simonica(c-mon-e-ka) I have two brother cats that choose to go in and out many times every day, each at a different time, driving me nuts. I wish they could open and close sliding glass doors, but a bit too heavy for them I think!
