Subconscious travel and an interview

You didn't expect this did you? :) This is the same painting from last Wednesday. I felt it was a bit too bright so I added some black to it. What do you think?

For some reason this painting makes me happy. It's bright and dark at the same time. I love looking at all those layers. But I have to tell you it was hard covering all that yummy background. I was stressing about covering too much. It's easy to say to keep the good parts but when the whole thing is one bright mess you can't really tell which parts are good and which not. It's only when you "frame" them that you get to see if it works or not.

All in all the stress was worth it. I like how it came out and it makes me feel. Do you know what I mean? When you look at something and you just "feel" it. I'm calling this one "Subconscious travel". Does that even make sense? I don't know. When I look at this painting those words kind of fit.

Now for my first interview go check out the lovely Deborah's site Scat N Style. :) It will also appear at DangerousLee.Biz later on. Let me know what you think. :)

  4. I really liked the original painting but seeing it now like it, I love what you've done with the black - it gives it more depth and the title you gave it fits perfectly. It's like a combination of a child's mobile and being in space - I love it.

Great interview as well. So much of what you said I can relate to. Good luck with the upcoming exhibition - I'll look forward to hearing how it goes.
